10 Free Online Tools To Help You Spy On Your Competition

#1 Similar Web

Ok, let me begin with SimilarWeb. Just add your competitors URL and see some incredible big picture data. This includes information on your competitors geographic reach, their referrals, searches, social, display and even similar sites.

What I like best is the traffic source data. You can view 3 months of desktop volume from direct traffic, referrals, search, social, email and display.

#2 SEMRush

Ever wonder how much your competitor is spending on their Pay-Per-Click (PPC) ads? SEMRush provides a ton of data on paid search spending and keywords. They also provide data on organic search, backlinks and display advertising too.

#3 SpyFu

Are you looking for more detailed keyword data on your competitors? Look no further than SpyFu. Find their top PPC keywords, Google AdWords history for up to 6 years and even review inbound links. Plus, you can even find out their top competitors too.

#4 iSpionage

Are you looking for even more PPC data? Check out iSpionage and get details on paid and SEO keywords. You can also compare up to 3 of your competitors side-by-side.

#5 ahrefs

This tool is one of my favorites. Did you ever want to find out the most popular website pages on your competitors website? Enter their URL, go to "Top Content" and see a list of their most popular content ranked by social shares.

#6 Buzzsumo

Do you want to find new competitors in your niche? Visit Buzzsumo, add keywords for your product or services and find competitors who are also targeting your audience.

#7 Social Mention

Ok, how about recent announcements? Would you like to see any new stories or articles about your competitors? Social Mention searches the web for real time data on news and social shares. You can even sort this information by post date as well.

#8 Fanpage Karma

Would you like to learn more about your competitors Facebook page? Fanpage Karma can give you instant data on key performance indicators for an unlimited number of pages.

#9 Topsy

Now you know about your competitors Facebook page, what about Twitter? Topsy is your perfect resource to get recent data on Twitter pages and tweets.

#10 Google Alerts

Last but not least, would you like to get emails every time your competitor is in the news? Create a Google Alert for your competitors name or their product keywords. You will automatically receive an email when anything new is posted online.
